Are you looking for online science education resources to support teaching K-12 science? There are many resources on the internet and it is difficult for teachers to find the time to surf the web looking for online resources. The best option is to visit a one-stop resource for K-12 science educators’ that is an online directory of resources designed for science education. Not only can teachers use a resource like this, it would also be perfect for parents’ home schooling their children.

Inquiry Based Teaching and Learning

If you are looking for K-12 science lesson plans, web resources, and references to support inquiry based teaching and learning, you have probably found this search difficult. Like other web resources it takes time to surf the web and find them. What is needed is a directory of science inquiry based resources categorized into topics that support K-12 science teaching and learning. What is needed is for someone to do this for you.

Directory resources that are most valuable to K-12 science educators include lesson plans, assessment guides, curriculum guides, standards guidelines, search engines for science, and more. Also there is a need for online resources that support all science content areas.

Teaching Science using Technology

There are many types of technology strategies for teaching K-12 science. These include the use of web resources, online simulators, WebQuests, real-time data bases, online interactive websites, and many more options. A website that provides a directory of a wide variety of web based resources is very helpful to K-12 educators.

This type of website would be used to support their teaching strategies. Actively engaging students in learning, instead of being passive learners. You can take students on virtual field trips to places all over the world: zoos, volcanos in other countries, and more.

Additional Resources

Other K-12 online science education resources needed by teachers and parents include access to journals, current science news topics, and online science teaching research books. One particular resource that is needed is a guide for recommended reading books to support science at all grade levels. Reading is stressed even more today to meet state and national education requirements and an online resource would help educators save time trying to find books that meet content standards.

Because of the emphasis on standards and testing today, teachers do want to go to a website that waste their time. All resources need to be pre-screened to ensure that they meet national science standards’ guidelines for teaching science using inquiry based practices. Also, that the technology based resources on the website meets national technology and science standards.

A directory that has updated links is especially important to provide resources. Teachers and parents are tired of going to science directories that are full of dead links. It wastes their time and frustration sets in, because more valuable time has been wasted.

What is needed is an online science education resource website that is specifically designed for K-12 science educators and home schooling parents.

Not all of them are credible though, and might leave you misled. Check for the following attributes in the essay:

Good Written English

The sample essay must be able to show good basic grammar. If you notice but a bit of error in fundamental grammar, then move on to the next site. This is a telltale sign that the example is not credible. Also, a well-written composition uses simple and appropriate words. Highfalutin words should sound an alarm.

Short and Concise

You’ll know it’s a good composition if it uses short sentences and short paragraphs. The keyword is readability and one way you can attain this is through simplicity. Moreover, a good composition does not beat around the bush. It goes straight to the point and effectively hits the mark.

Coherence

The composition must be coherent. A coherent essay will not give you a hard time understanding what you are reading. A well-structured composition always prompts the direction of the ideas (subtly of course). You’ll know when you’re being given a backgrounder, the climax of the argument, or a summary of the main points.

Structure

One basic structure commonly used in essays is the five-paragraph format. The first paragraph is the introduction and it gives a brief background on the topic. It tells you what the essay is all about. Then the bulk of your discussion lies in the main body that is divided into three parts-the first body paragraph, the second body paragraph and the third body paragraph. You assign each division to a specific subtopic.

The finale of the composition is the conclusion. This is basically the fifth paragraph. It must be able to encapsulate the main points of the discussion and the gist in a short paragraph. You can always deviate from this basic structure. Make sure though that the ideas are well organized and that it is readable.

Content

The content is also a good gauge of the credibility of the sample essay. The topic must be appropriate for a college application and the insights and thoughts being communicated must make sense. A good structure is useless if the content is as good as rubbish.

Engaging

A good essay is engaging. Be aware that the board of admissions will be evaluating tons of submissions and your composition will have to stand out for it to be successful. Always anticipate that the admissions board will be jaded and thus needs some extra stimulation.

Paper Writing Services

There is quite a multitude of paper writing services sprouting on the Internet. They usually promise a well-written paper at a reasonable price. You may get exactly what they have promised but this is not always a good option. The admissions board sees right through a sincere composition and is more likely to be impressed by a personal work.

Go ahead. Browse through the Net for college essay examples but make sure that they are credible and that you only use them as models.

When you are making an important decision of selecting the right degree program, it is primarily important to consider the goal of that degree. In the past, students opted for subjects and fields that interested them. There were and still are, certain careers that demand only a specific level of competency and knowledge by virtue of a degree, thus, allowing students to investigate degree programs that they find academically interesting and challenging and not necessarily with a specific career in mind. But, with the increasingly saturated job markets and the current economic crisis, a high premium is placed on expertise through the right degree program and training. The job market is getting more and more competitive and specialized fields typically require an equally specialized degree in order to be successful.

Once you have decided on a career, the next question to tackle is then which degree to opt for. There a number of key factors to consider while doing so. Firstly, you will have to decide whether it is necessary and more practical to pursue a Certificate, Associate, or Bachelor education, or if a Master and Doctorate degree is what will make the difference to your future job prospects. Keep in mind your time commitments, monetary constraints as well as your practical academic goals when making your final choice and ask yourself the following questions:

What are you interested in? – You have to be interested in the subject/major of your degree program. Remember this is a commitment of a number of years (depending on which degree you choose) and it will cost you a lot of time and money. If you still are unsure about what major to choose, look at the college’s websites, college prospectuses or research on the internet about the courses you might be interested in taking. Many of the sites provide supplementary reading lists so you can research the subject in-detail and see if it actually interests you.

What job are you planning for? – Always think a few steps ahead when planning your education. Look at what requirements are demanded from your career path. To do this, you could turn to websites from schools, universities, and job portals that outline detailed requirements about what employers are looking for. Find out what other students have accomplished with their degrees after they have graduated. With respect to degrees in the arts, humanities and social sciences, the employment opportunities are a lot more flexible than degrees in science.

What colleges have you shortlisted? – If you have a clear idea of where you want to study, investigate the school more carefully. Check league tables and quality assurance and understand that both the institution as well as the quality of an individual department is important. Attend open days and speak to students and parents, if possible. Programs in the same subject may also vary between colleges, so always ask around.

What program would suit your personality? – You must be aware of your strengths, weaknesses, interests and capabilities to correctly decide on a degree and career for you. Are you practical and meticulous enough for a hard core science-based program or do you lean more towards the arts and creativity? Ask your friends and family for their opinions as well and once a clear profile emerges, match this with your short list of education options to ensure future success.

What degrees are in demand? – If you are still uncertain about your choice or have varied interests, you need to find out which degrees are in demand. The higher the demands for a specific degree, the greater are the pay scales and opportunity for advancement. Choosing such a degree will make your job search easier and more lucrative in the long run.

Which degree has accelerated options? – Accelerated degree programs might seem an unusual idea at first but there are some degrees which may take twice as long to complete compared to other programs. For example, biology versus communications. The longer the program is means more time and money and in such cases, an accelerated option might make sense.

Remember, it’s extremely important to take some time before deciding which college degree program to choose. So, go ahead – plan, research and finally, trust your instincts.
